The track will be part of the 'Weathermaker Vault Series' project.

hard rock band Clutch has released a re-recorded version and a music video for the song “Willie Nelson.” The track was originally on the band's 2003 album, Slow Hole to China: Rare And Unreleased .

The track is the sixth single from the Weathermaker Vault Series , which will feature several re-recordings of old Clutch songs. Some of the tracks already available from the series are "Spacegrass," "Electric Worry," as well as re-recordings of Willie Dixon's "Evil," ZZ Top ," and Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Fourtnate Son.

Clutch drummer Jean-Paul Gaster stated in an interview that the band is testing and experimenting with releasing songs solely in digital format. Gaster also said that this approach will be good for keeping the band together until it's time to record a new album.

Regarding the creation of new albums, the drummer says that there isn't much money to make albums anymore, as everyone knows, and with that, they have the opportunity to play unreleased tracks on tour, and not be a band that only does shows to perform past hits
