Metallica fans with the tragic death of Cliff Burton , the band's original bassist, who died in a bus accident during the 1986 tour. At only 24 years old, the musician made significant contributions to metal with his work on the albums Kill 'Em All, Ride The Lightning , and Master Of Puppets .
On September 26th of that year, Metallica took the stage for the last time with Burton. Although there are no video recordings of the show, the band did a photoshoot before the performance, and the bassist was photographed shortly before embarking on his final journey.
