Clemente Nascimento is discharged from the ICU in Campo Grande

The lead singer of Inocentes had been hospitalized since December following emergency heart surgery

Clemente Nascimento , an icon of Brazilian punk rock and vocalist and guitarist for the bands Inocentes and Plebe Rude , has been discharged from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Campo Grande, where he spent 21 days. The information was confirmed by a family member and by journalist and family friend Luiz Cesar Pimentel .

Clemente Nascimento, 62, underwent complex emergency heart surgery on December 12th after feeling unwell shortly before a performance in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul. A medical bulletin released later revealed that the artist suffered a type A and B aortic dissection, a tear in the main artery of the human body and considered a more serious condition than a heart attack.

According to Luiz Cesar Pimentel , despite being discharged from the hospital, Clemente will remain in Campo Grande until the end of this week for clinical follow-up. He is expected to return to São Paulo next week.
