The Brazilian band Claustrofobia released this Friday, the 11th, the album Unleeched , their first work entirely in English, released by Metal Assault Records and distributed in Brazil by the label Wikimetal Music .
Recorded during the pandemic in Los Angeles, United States, the album was produced by Adair Daufembach , who has previously worked with bands such as Hangar and Project46 , in conjunction with the band itself.
Before the release, fans were able to hear two singles: the intense “Neuro Massacre” and “Corrupted Self ,” a collaboration with Marc Rizzo (ex- Soulfly ) on the solo. Musically, Unleeched expands Claustrofobia's musical horizons, including a thrash track in “2020 (March To Glory),” but without abandoning the band's usual aggression.
“ Unleeched is brutal and was made to be enjoyed from beginning to end, like in the old days – and that gives us that first album feeling, in a climate of healing, progress and liberation,” comments Marcus D'angelo , vocalist and guitarist of the band.
The successor to Download Hatred Rafael Yamada 's debut in the group's discography: "It was the first time I had the opportunity to compose with the guys, and the experience greatly enriched my musical background," said the musician. "I can say that this album opened my mind to a more solid and consistent type of composition."
Brothers Marcus and Caio D'Angelo formed the group in 1994 and together released six studio albums and one DVD. Having toured the world, the band has shared the stage with names like Iron Maiden and Anthrax, and was responsible for opening Slayer 's last show in São Paulo during the band's final tour in 2019.
