The American black metal band UADA surprised fans by releasing a new version of "Something In The Way," Nirvana classic from their 1991 album Nevermind
In a press release, vocalist Jake Superchi explained that the group broke its own rule of not recording covers in order to pay homage to one of the most significant influences on their career.
“When UADA was formed, one rule was established: no covers, in search of a completely independent voice. We allowed ourselves to break that rule. Recruiting a cellist for this project created a rare convergence, a moment to honor one of the most formative regional influences of my youth. By remaining true to the original arrangement, we allowed our interpretation to take on its own dark and glacial weight. A weight that echoes the timeless sadness of the song,” said Jake.
In addition, UADA will also be touring North America Mortiis Witches of Dystopia.
