Actor comments on the role
In his latest film, "The Big Short," Christian Bale plays a financial market gambler who relieves tension by listening to heavy metal in the office.
For a scene in the film where he plays a double bass drum, the actor took an intensive 2-week course: “It was a great course. Double bass drum, the song “By Demons Be Driven” by Pantera – a great song. That’s how he calmed down. He listened to it all the time on his headphones, not only that, Mastodon too. His head is so agitated that Death Metal calms him down.”
Christian Bale is best known for his role as Batman in the "Dark Knight" trilogy. "The Big Short" is currently in theaters and is nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars. Watch the trailer below:
