Chris Cornell 's family has reached a settlement with the musician's former doctor. In 2018, Cornell's widow Vicky and his children, Toni and Christopher , accused Robert Koblin of "repeatedly and negligently prescribing dangerous and mind-altering substances."
The accusation alleged that the substances led him to exhibit "dangerous and impulsive behavior that cost him his life." Now, the family has reached an agreement with the doctor and the clinic where he works.
The agreement is confidential and, according to Rolling Stone , Cornell's family accuses "internet trolls and other unstable individuals" of threatening them, putting the lives of the Soundgarden vocalist's children at risk in recent months.
Chris Cornell died in May 2017, and the autopsy determined that he committed suicide and that the drugs in his system were not the direct cause of his death. However, the document indicated that consuming excessive doses of Lorazepam can increase the risk of suicide by decreasing the ability to control impulses and impairing rational thinking.
