Chris Cornell's daughter launches podcast about mental health

“I want to help normalize the conversation about mental health,” Lily said when announcing the news

This week marked three years since we lost Chris Cornell , and in his honor, his daughter Lily Cornell Silver announced that she will be launching a podcast about mental health to help raise awareness of the issue.

The news was revealed on his social media, stating that the podcast, titled Mind Wide Open , will feature a series of interviews with professionals in the field, as well as his father's colleagues and acquaintances who are going through similar problems, in order to "share their stories and struggles to offer knowledge on the subject."

“My goal with this project is simple,” she explained in her Instagram post, “I want to help normalize the conversation about mental health (…) Now, more than ever, people are suffering with their mental health due to the trauma, stress, loss, and collective grief caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.”.

She also mentions that she seeks to dedicate a space that “prioritizes mental health and mental balance.” Lily shared her own struggles after losing her father. “We always talked about the anxiety and depression he suffered from, and mental health was always something he had to deal with his whole life (…) Losing my father opened a hole in my heart, and the grief and trauma that followed come with their own struggles.”

The first guest on the podcast is Laura van Dernoot Lipsky , founder and director of the Trauma Stewardship Institute . Information regarding the release date and time will be announced soon.
