Vocalist says Rock will react to Electronic

Interviewed on the American program “Howard Stern Show” this week, Soundgarden vocalist Chris Cornell spoke about an imminent revolution in music. According to the singer, just as happened in the 80s, a new form of Rock will emerge as a counterpoint to the growth of electronic music.

Check out Chris Cornell's statement:

“I heard someone say the other day that 70% of young people today like electronic music, and that this number is growing every day. I don't know how much more it might increase. The only thing I know is that this tends to be the beginning of a great movement in Rock, similar to what happened when Disco was dominating. Suddenly you had Punk Rock, which came as a reaction to that, when people finally said, 'Look, this is bad.' Maybe that will happen again. I imagine young people will be at a rave, the ecstasy will take effect, and they'll realize: 'This is terrible.'”

Soundgarden is currently touring with Black Sabbath and will be playing shows with Nine Inch Nails at the end of July.
