The Associated Press news agency released on Twitter the official cause of death of Chris Cornell, lead singer of Soundgarden, who passed away yesterday at age 52.
The post says: "Medical examiner determines that Soundgarden vocalist Chris Cornell committed suicide by hanging in Detroit"
The full autopsy has not yet been completed.
