"Rock is and always has been the most important thing in my life."

By China Lee (*)

I'm China Lee, vocalist of the band Minimum Wage.

My relationship with rock music began very early. At the age of 9, I received a collection of Beatles records, a band I'm still a fan of today.

In terms of heavier music, it was when I was 12 years old that I heard Black Sabbath's 'Sabotage' from a friend and I went crazy. I loved it.

From then on, I never stopped listening to heavy music.

My first gig was at 'Casa das Máquinas,' which changed my life because I realized I could sing in Portuguese and have a rock band.

And I'm still doing it to this day... Rock is and always has been the most important thing in my life.

(*) China Lee is the vocalist of the band Salário Mínimo . She began her career in the 80s, in the band Anjos do Inferno and later, at the invitation of guitarist Junior Muzzili, joined the band Salário Mínimo.
