Children Of Bodom will release an album of their latest show.

The group's last performance was in 2019.

Children Of Bodom will release A Chapter Called… Children Of Bodom (Final Show In Helsinki Ice Hall 2019) , an album of the group's last show. The recording will be available on December 15th, four years after the day it was recorded.

The musicians commented on the album with excitement and nostalgia. Bassist Henkka Seppälä Alexi 's music will live on forever.”

Jane Wirman commented: “It was surreal to be on that stage at the Helsinki Ice Hall, because I knew I probably wouldn’t play with the guys again or play for the amazing fans again. It was sad, but also a little relieving. It’s great that the last show and its emotional rollercoaster can now be enjoyed by everyone who couldn’t attend.”

Drummer Jaska Raatikainen said: “When I went on stage I felt relaxed, probably because I no longer felt the need to prove anything other than enjoying the music and the presence of all the fans. I was very grateful to have been a part of all this, knowing that our music wouldn't disappear even if we never played together again.”

“It’s great to have that final show turned into a live album. For those who saw it, it’s a trip back in time to that moment. And for those who didn’t, it’s an opportunity to experience how the chapter called Children Of Bodom was closed,” commented guitarist Daniel Freyberg .

The end of Children of Bodom

Initially, the reason given for the band's breakup was "family reasons." However, after an exclusive interview with the three founders of Children Of Bodom , it was revealed that Alexi Laiho's behavior was actually causing problems. The vocalist had been facing various issues stemming from alcohol and substance abuse. He died in 2020 from connective tissue degeneration of the liver and pancreas due to alcohol.
