In 2019, the Finnish melodic death metal band Children of Bodom performed their final show in Helsinki, ending a career spanning over 25 years. Now, an official recording of this historic event is finally available in the form of the album A Chapter Called Children of Bodom (Final Show in Helsinki Ice Hall 2019) , which has just been released on CD in Brazil.
Children of Bodom is one of Finland's most successful groups: since forming in 1993 (initially under the name "Inearthed"), they have sold over 250,000 records in their home country alone. The setlist for their last show celebrated this extensive career, including 18 songs representing each of the band's ten studio albums.
The final lineup of the group upon their disbandment consisted of Alexi Laiho (lead guitar, lead vocals), Jaska Raatikainen (drums), Henkka Seppälä (bass), Janne Wirman (keyboards), and Daniel Freyberg (rhythm guitar). Laiho , who was one of the founding members of Children of Bodom and its main songwriter, passed away the following year, on December 29, 2020.
A chapter called Children of Bodom (Final Show in Helsinki Ice Hall 2019) is now available in major stores and online via Wikimetal Store .
