Rumor has it that Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, starring Aerosmith , at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Disney World Resort, is known not only for its high-speed flips and Steven Tyler screeching vocals, but also for the enormous guitar that greets guests as they approach the attraction.
For a time, that guitar was covered and sealed while Disney worked to restore it and make it look brand new. That process is finally complete.
This week, Disney unveiled the updated look of the guitar. The red color on the guitar is vibrant and the chrome is even shinier, making it look almost brand new. The Walt Disney Imagineering Instagram account posted some photos of the new guitar, check them out:
Aerosmith recently released a contribution to the Record Store Day , which took place on November 26th. The band will release The Road Starts Hear , a recording of a rehearsal from 1971. Recently discovered, the original tape had not been played for decades.
Produced by Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, and Steve Berkowitz , the album is available on vinyl and cassette tape in limited editions. The liner notes feature previously unreleased photos from the time, as well as images of the original cassette case and texts written by David Fricke ( Rolling Stone ), with new interviews and commentary from the musicians.
Despite only releasing their debut album two years after this recording, Aerosmith already had a great reputation in the Boston, Massachusetts area of the United States. The band signed with Columbia Records and achieved stardom in the following years, becoming one of the major references of American hard rock in the 70s.
Record Store Day takes place twice a year, always in April and November, on the same weekend as Black Friday. The event aims to encourage the consumption of physical material in independent stores around the world. Several artists offer unreleased recordings, rarities, or special reissues exclusive to these dates.
