After nearly 60 years on the road, the Rolling Stones lost one of their legendary members about a week ago, with the sad death of drummer Charlie Watts on August 24th.

Charlie was 80 years old and known for his elegance and introspective nature, and his death resulted in a series of tributes posted online by big names in music. Last weekend, the Rolling Stones' official Twitter account posted a video honoring the drummer, featuring a compilation of images of Charlie throughout his career, as well as the farewell photo posted by the three remaining members: Watts' drum kit with a "closed" sign.

The cause of death has not yet been released, but a few weeks earlier, the drummer had undergone surgery and announced that he would be retiring from the Stones' tour.
