Charlie “Chalo” Quintana passed away last Tuesday, the 13th, at the age of 56.

The musician became known for his participation in the band The Plugz in the 70s and, especially, for his work as the drummer for Social Distortion between 2000 and 2009.

Furthermore, Charlie has also worked with other big names in music such as Izzy Stradlin (Guns N' Roses), Joan Osbourne, and Bob Dylan.

Charlie Quintana was born in El Paso, Texas, and recently moved to Mexico to care for abandoned dogs after "going through difficult times where many people tried to help him and others turned their backs on him ," according to a Facebook post.

The cause of his death has not yet been revealed.
