The reunion of the original members of Pantera along with Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante made many fans happy, but also caused some controversy online .

Not everyone was happy with the band's "return," and Charlie Benante commented for the first time on the negative reviews he saw online.

During an interview with Consequence alongside Gary Holt , the drummer confided: “I don’t go looking for that stuff [online]. Some people send me [negative comments] and I’m like, ‘Why did you send me that? Why ruin my day?’ I think whoever makes those comments doesn’t realize the magnitude of the effect it can have on people.”

"Whether you hate the situation or not... Why can't you keep it to yourself? I've never seen so many [negative comments] in my life as I've seen in these last few months with people judging," she commented.

During the conversation, Gary Holt, who went through a similar situation, commented that he only had to deal with two annoying people during his time in Slayer , honoring the late Jeff Hanneman .

"Fortunately, Charlie and I have something in common, which is that we are widely accepted by most of the fans of these guys we are honoring," the musician reflected.
