One of the leading names in pop music today, singer Chappell Roan , performed a cover of "Barracuda," a classic by Heart .

The performance took place during the artist's presentation at Primavera Sound Barcelona on June 7th.

This wasn't the first time she'd covered the song. Last year at Austin City Limits , "Barracuda" was performed as her "favorite song." The song was also part of the setlist for a performance in Council Bluffs, Iowa, last October.

In addition to the cover [via Loudersound ], the set featured the singer's biggest hits, such as "Good Luck, Babe!", "Red Wine Supernova", "Femininomenon" and the hit "Pink Pony Club".

In 2025, Roan won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist. Her acceptance speech was marked by criticism of how record labels treat their artists. In her speech, she called for better salaries and decent working conditions.

In a podcast, Chappell Roan praised the Heart vocalist before performing a cover.

In April, during an appearance on After Dinner Thinks , hosted by Heart vocalist Ann Wilson , Roan didn't hold back in praising Wilson.

"I think you have the best voice in rock... I thought, 'Actually, this is the coolest song ever. And I feel like a rock star!'"

Roan also said that performing at Austin City Limits made her feel "very powerful." She also stated that, in fact, pop is very cool; however, rock, and especially "Barracuda," are completely different things.
