Chaosbay journeys to a not-so-distant future in the single “2 Billion,” part of the recently released album 2222 , with powerful lyrics that call for balance between humanity and nature, narrating a future in which the maximum population on Earth will be two billion – well under half the current number of almost eight billion.

Wikimetal 's discoveries on Groover , the German band relies on a powerful and catchy chorus to sing about the adventures of the time-traveling protagonist of the concept album, released on July 27th. Instead of painting a bleak and dystopian scenario, Chaosbay prefers to believe in humanity's potential to recover.

“In the future, it will become clear that sooner or later nature will have to reclaim what it needs to be able to accommodate humans as a species for even longer,” explains vocalist, guitarist, and composer Jan Listing about the lyrics. “I dream of seeing life on Earth not just as a ‘mutual exploitation,’ but as a symbiosis that allows us to live in peaceful coexistence not only with other humans, but also with nature.”.

The progressive metalcore band consists of Jan Listing (vocals and guitar), Alexander Langner (guitar), Matthias Heising (bass), and Patrick Bernath (drums). Listen to “2 Billion” and the new album below.
