Brothers Iggor and Max Cavalera have announced the release of re-recordings of Sepultura , the EP Bestial Devastation and the album Morbid Visions.

Now part of the Nuclear Blast Records label, the brothers and founding members of Sepultura have announced the release of projects and a tour under the name CAVALERA. Previously, their project was called Cavalera Conspiracy, a name still used on the band's social media.

The re-releases will feature two unreleased tracks and were produced by Max and Iggor Cavalera, with sound engineering, mixing, and mastering by John Aquilino and Arthur Rizk.

“As we get stronger year after year, sometimes you need to go back to where it all started!” comments Max Cavalera about the project. “We re-recorded Bestial Devastation and Morbid Visions with today’s incredible sound, but with their raw and timeless spirit. The artwork reflects the times we are living in now… Apocalyptic as hell! We also have two new tracks with riffs from that era, remembered by heart.”

“I always felt that the recordings of our previous works didn’t do justice to the way we played the music. So, this is a very special moment in our lives and we are very proud to show you, our true fans, our real representation of the incredible albums Bestial Devastation and Morbid Visions with an insane visual identity.”

In an interview with The Wikimetal Happy Hour in 2021, Max Cavalera had already spoken about his desire to re-record Sepultura's early works: "You see, these old songs are fucking good, sometimes we don't appreciate them enough because of the quality, they're really bad. It even makes you want to re-record this shit, you know? Doing it again would be really cool."

The covers for the re-releases are interpretations of the original artwork used on Sepultura's albums and were created by Eliran Kantor.

There is still no release date for the re-recordings, but pre-save for Bestial Devastation is already available ( here ), as is pre-save for Morbid Visions ( here ).

The band is embarking on a 40-date North American tour starting in August of this year. The brothers will be joined by Igor Amadeus Cavalera, Max's son, on bass, and Travis Stone on guitar.
