The cause of death of Hannah Price , the 25-year-old stepdaughter of the lead singer of the band Daughtry , has been confirmed as suicide by family members.
Deanna 's daughter from her first marriage , who had been married to Chris Daughtry since 2000, was found dead in her own home on November 12, 2021. After an investigation to determine the cause of death, police ruled it a suicide under the influence of narcotics.
“Many speculations have been made about [the cause of Hannah’s death], and after a thorough investigation by government authorities, we can speak in greater detail,” the Daughtry family said in a statement to People .
According to family members, Hannah had struggled with mental health issues since a very young age. Despite "going in and out of therapy and treatment centers" over the years, the young woman began using drugs and had toxic relationships. "Just a few months after losing her biological father to suicide, Hannah was the victim of a crime and was shot in the face. We did everything we could to support her and get her the help she needed to recover from these tragedies and get her life back on track," the statement continued.
The family, who were already working to bring Hannah closer and help with her treatments when the suicide occurred, issued a warning. "If you or a loved one is experiencing mental health problems, abuse, or addiction, seek help immediately," they said.
