Category 7 is a new supergroup featuring former Anthrax vocalist John Ambush .
Besides the musician, the band consists of guitarists Phil Demmel ( Kerry King , ex- Machine Head ) and Mike Orlando ( Adrenaline Mob , Sonic Universe ), bassist Jack Gibson ( Exodus ), and drummer Jason Bittner ( Shadows Fall , Overkill ).
The first single will be released on May 2nd, while the full album is scheduled for release during the US summer via Metal Blade Records.
The idea for the group arose when Demmel and Orlando wanted to join forces and do something similar to Thin Lizzy . Bittner and Gibson then joined, but it wasn't until after a few demos that Bush became part of the supergroup.
Bush said: “Mike Orlando and Phil Demmel’s incredible riffs made writing lyrics about the music very easy. Bittner and Gibson’s rhythm section completed the sound, and the connection seemed to have been made in the stars. Obviously, everyone being veterans of the metal scene made everything much easier.”
