One of the most important functions of music is its undeniable power to give voice and visibility to historical themes and lessons that people insist on letting fall into oblivion. In this respect, heavy metal, especially in the power metal subgenre, has always known how to revisit history masterfully to refresh our memory about the mistakes and successes of humanity in the past, generally expressing them in epic and forceful songs, manifesting its opinions about the facts in a way that is sometimes categorical, other times open to interpretation.

This is the case with the powerful "Holy Knight," the first single and music video of the São Paulo-based band Castellica , which originated in the distant year of 2011, but whose formation and purpose were consolidated about two years ago, resulting in this excellent song that precedes the release of Moment of Glory , the band's first studio album, to be released in the first quarter of 2021.

“Holy Knight”, with its striking melodies, rides majestically to the heroic rhythm of the Soldiers of Christ, who left their homes with the false promise of salvation granted by the Catholic Church in the face of an imminent end of times.

Featuring Thiago Colavite (vocals), Lucas Colavite (guitar), Danilo Colavite (guitar), Marco Dower (bass), and Cláudio Caldeirão (drums), Castellica presents us with power metal loaded with all the elements that still make it a powerful genre to revisit and tell the story from the point of view of its composers, through robust riffs, two beautiful solos full of feeling , a crushing rhythm section, a surprisingly wide vocal range, and the inevitable catchy chorus proclaiming “Holy Knight, Holy Knight. Be ready for freedom, be ready to fight. Holy Knight, Holy Knight. It's time to kill, It's time to die.”

“Holy Knight” is now available on all major streaming platforms, and its music video can be watched below. For those of us who appreciate a good story and Castellica's powerful heavy/power metal style of telling them, all that remains is to eagerly await the release of the full album and the possibility of seeing the band on stage soon.
