Kamelot will release a new album in April
Drummer Casey Grillo is no longer part of Kamelot, and has been replaced by Johan 'Jo' Nunez, who has previously played in Nightrage, Suicide Of Demons, and also toured with Firewind, Gus G, and Marty Friedman.
Regarding Grillo, guitarist Thomas Youngblood said, “We did a lot of things together, both inside and outside of Kamelot. As his friends, the band and I respect his decision. I’m sure we’ll all still be hanging out together when we have free time.”
Grillo also spoke about his departure: “First of all, I would like to thank all the KAMELOT fans around the world for their support during my time with the band. It gave me the opportunity to travel the world, meet the most incredible people, experience so many cultures and share some of the most memorable experiences of my life. Among the various other musical ventures I am involved in, along with my business DrumStatic.com, it really became apparent that it was time for me to explore and focus on these new opportunities, without compromising the exclusivity that Kamelot needs and deserves.
I sincerely ask you all to give Johan Nunez a warm welcome and embrace him as the new drummer. He is a great guy and will proudly represent and continue the Kamelot legacy.”
The Shadow Theory will be released on April 6th via Napalm Records.
