A star is born: young Casey Bishop , just 15 years old, impressed the American Idol by singing a different version of "Live Wire" by Motley Crue .
The teenager, who had previously only performed in choirs and talent shows at her school, according to USA Today Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers , and Sublime as her favorite bands .
Presenting a slower, bluesier version of “Live Wire” and pairing it with Frank Sinatra the artist earned praise from singer and judge Luke Bryan , who stated after the young woman’s audition, “I think she’s the damn winner of American Idol . Period. It’s obvious,” and later added, “Wow, guys. I think my body has been tingling for 10 minutes. She’s a tremendous star.”
