Carcass

Carcass already has 50 minutes of music for their next album.

Carcass' last album was released in 2013.

In an interview with Wsou radio, Carcass guitarist Bill Steer spoke about the band's upcoming work.

“I’ve lost count of how many years have passed since the last album, but I think it’s around five years. And it’s been a long time since we’ve been working on a new album. We did a lot of things at Christmas – probably about 50 minutes of music – but we’re not going to stop, we’re going to keep writing so that we have enough material and can choose the best things for the album. So, when it will definitely be recorded, I don’t know, but it will have to be this year. Dan [drummer Daniel Wilding] and I are going crazy, really – we’re very keen to do it.”

Steer also spoke about the recent departure of guitarist Ben Ash and the addition of Tom Draper (Pounder, ex-Angel Witch):

“Well, going back to what I was saying about five years of touring for one album, I think it took a toll on each of us in one way or another. Ben was brought into the band as a gigging guitarist. We finished the album, we were booking gigs and we needed a second guitarist, it felt like an eternity […] So, this frantic search began and Ben came into the picture. And then we started, lots of touring and lots of traveling [followed]. But, yeah, I understand he was very eager to get back to some of the things he was doing beforehand.”

[Tom], our new guitarist, is a guy I've known for years. […] This is only his second show with us, so it's early days, but he's taking it very seriously. He's been methodical in how he's learned everything and is very self-critical. So, yeah, he's a cool guy to have around.”
