Among the many factors that draw attention to the newly formed band Capella , one of the main ones is the unlikely but inevitable combination of events that brought together in Portugal five experienced musicians born in Brazil, resulting in what is one of the most promising bands of today.
Capella is formed by the experienced André “Zaza” , who was the guitarist for Andre Matos during his three studio albums and played in Angra before Kiko Loureiro joined the band, Jota Fortinho , vocalist of the Slovakian band Signum Regis , ex- Before Eden and Fortress , Pablo Romeu , guitarist with vast solo experience focused on a fusion sound, Gabriel Carvalho , bassist of Terra Prima , and Fernando Castagna , who was the drummer for Scenes From a Dream , a Dream Theater from São Paulo.
Despite these eye-catching elements preceding the band, Capella's music speaks louder and draws attention on its own for its above-average quality. Following the success of the single and music video for "Falling Nations," the band Capella released their second single, "Higher."
More direct and even more exciting than its predecessor, "Higher" is packed with all the elements that power metal fans love most: grandiose arrangements, beautiful melodies, a broken, intricate and crushing rhythm section, mind-blowing guitar riffs and duets, exciting lyrics full of the best energy, soaring vocal lines and a chorus that sticks in your memory from the very first listen.
The release was accompanied by a lyric video which can be watched below.
