Last Wednesday, the 24th, Cannibal Corpse released their new song "Murderous Rampage". The song is part of the album Violence Unimagined , which will be released on April 16th.
The new album will be Cannibal Corpse's 15th studio album and features a new addition: the official inclusion of guitarist Erik Rutan , who had previously filled in for the band during the 2019 tour. “He [Erik] wrote three entire songs for the album, lyrics and melody, and his way of composing and playing guitar brought something new, and I think his musical style integrated very well with ours,” commented bassist Alex Webster , according to Blabbermouth . “He’s a great friend of ours, so on a personal level, he’s been the perfect choice, as we knew he would be.”
Regarding the new album Violence Unimagined , Webster revealed: “[The album] really follows the path we’ve been on for a few years now. I think we approach songwriting more similarly each time: each of us tries to write the heaviest and most memorable song we can. We want each song to have its own identifiable personality. Betraying my age, I like to say that you can ‘put the needle’ anywhere on one of our albums and quickly identify which song you’re listening to.”
