Cannibal Corpse announced this Thursday, the 22nd, the release of their sixteenth studio album.
Titled Chaos Horrific , the album arrives on September 22nd and has been described by bassist Alex Webster as "a sort of continuation" of the 2021 album, Violence Unimagined .
The new project began to be written shortly after its predecessor, which must have influenced the feeling described by Webster. For guitarist and producer Erik Rutan , Chaos Horrific follows a slightly different direction than what was explored on the previous album (his first work with the band):
“I never start an album thinking about something specific; I just let the writing flow freely and without limitations. But this time I knew I wanted to go in a different direction from Violence Unimagined – to expand the dynamics, explore new territories without straying from what Cannibal Corpse is and always should be.”
Alongside the announcement, Cannibal Corpse released the first single of this new phase, "Blood Bind." According to drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz , the track is about "mass mutilations to reset the human race into a genocide that has been accepted by the masses."
