Candlemass commented on turning 40 and his new single
In a statement [via Metal Injection ], bassist and founder Leif Edling said:
“'Black Star' is a big, heavy track. It contains a bit of everything: melodic verse, monolithic riff, accelerated Sabbath in the middle section, and a great Rainbow- esque !”
“Not all bands reach their 40th anniversary, and it certainly hasn’t been an easy journey. But after many ups and downs, we’re here as survivors, veterans even… a little scared, perhaps?”
"Still ready for some doom-laden metal in an unsuspecting world. You gotta do something when you turn 40, right? Anyway, as always, it was fun recording some new stuff, and also doing covers of some of our favorite bands."
For the second half of the year, Candlemass will embark on a European tour to promote their new single and EP. In addition, the band will celebrate this historic milestone in their legendary career.
