In just 2 days, the goal of R$30,000 to help with the treatment of stomach cancer that musician, producer and DJ André 'Pomba' Cagni is facing was not only reached but surpassed. More than R$50,000 has already been raised at the time of publication of this article.

As most of you already know, André Pomba, musician and DJ, has stomach/peritoneal cancer that is difficult to treat, but he has been diligently pursuing it. The treatment has been ongoing for a year, and because it is a difficult process, he has lost over 30 kilos and can only be fed through a feeding tube, which hinders his mobility.
Currently, Pomba is experiencing financial difficulties, as he has lost most of his income and is unable to perform or participate in events. We, friends and relatives of André Pomba, managed to convince him to create this crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for his treatment. In addition to the cost of his health insurance, there are the medications, the special diet (although he receives part of it from the government), his house needs urgent adaptations, especially the bed which needs to be replaced with a hospital bed (the current one is causing him a lot of pain), and he needs pest control, cleaning, painting, and a general reorganization of the space to accommodate his caregiver, since he now needs constant supervision.
Friends and relatives are sharing the responsibility of caring for him, but from time to time he needs professional care, which he cannot afford. We did a survey and arrived at a minimum value of R$ 30,000.00, which is necessary for these adjustments, but of course every amount helps a lot and the unity of all friends makes all the difference.
This amount will be used to adapt the environment and purchase a new bed, buy a sofa bed for the caregiver, replace bed linens and pillows, as well as for pest control and renting a place for him to stay for a few days while the renovations are being done, since he cannot be away from the location of consultations, exams and therapy (we estimate the costs of this stage at around R$ 15,000.00) and the remainder raised will be to support expenses with food (a 12-liter box costs on average R$ 500.00 and lasts 10 days), even with public support, there is always a box missing at the end of the month and there are months when, due to bureaucracy, we need to buy more than one box. Also, the purchase of medicines and equipment such as syringes, feeding sets, nutrition containers, Nutren cans, and medications (Pantoprazole, bromopride, bisoprolol, clopidogrel, rosuvastatin, trimetazidine, mirtazapine, pregabalin, among others) generates a monthly cost exceeding R$ 3,000.00, in addition to day-to-day expenses.
