Caggiano explains his departure from Anthrax.

The guitarist was experiencing a lack of creativity

Anthrax guitarist Rob Caggiano clarified his surprising departure from Anthrax earlier this year.

The guitarist said his heart was no longer in Anthrax. “The band was never a creative space for me. There was no emotional involvement anymore. I wasn't happy. I'm a musician and a creative person.”.

Upon leaving the band, Caggiano had explained that he would dedicate himself to a career in music production. But his brief involvement with the Danish band Volbeat raised questions.

Caggiano explained that during the production of Volbeat's new album, the chemistry was great. "I felt creative again, something that hadn't happened in a long time.".

The guitarist also said he feels proud of everything he did during his time in Anthrax. "I think in the end they understand why I left. But I love everything I did in the band, we made great albums and great shows.".
