Band receives Ivor Novello Award
Black Sabbath musicians Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi and Bill Ward reunited this morning in London to receive the Ivor Novello Awards, given to British composers for their influence on music.
Introduced by Brian May, Black Sabbath thanked the award committee, and Iommi took the opportunity to confirm that the band will embark on a final tour in 2016.
Bill Ward commented: “It’s been a great 40 years. At least I think it has been. It’s been a fantastic journey so far, and I hope it continues to be.”
