Bush released the music video for their single "Scars" on Tuesday, the 29th. The track is part of the band's new album, I Beat Loneliness , nominated for a Grammy, released on July 18th by earMUSIC .

In a recent interview with 98 Rock , vocalist Gavin Rossdale spoke about the inspiration for the song [transcription via Blabbermouth ]:

“Well, I think it’s like a snapshot of my life. I’m at a point in my life where I can look back far enough and remember when I made my first records. I had no horizon, you know?”

“I didn’t know what was happening, and the road was just endless and open. So, obviously, as you mature, get older, and see what the terrain is like, and your time, you have to think, ‘Okay, I can see the horizon.’ So, that kind of presents a different thing about ensuring there’s a reason to write. I call it ensuring you improve the silence. So, I just delved deeper and found some things. I kind of experimented with myself musically and lyrically, and just delved deeper and tried to be as clear as possible. Whenever I had an idea, I questioned whether I was being clear enough about it. And I try to get straight to the really basic cellular structure of people.”

Gavin Rossdale also commented on Bush's 10th studio album: “What I feel about this record is that it addresses the common struggles we all have. '60 Ways To Forget People ' is an ode to sacrifice and a dedication to the focus needed to be better. All the time and in everything.”
