Musician participated in Chester Bennington tribute.

Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale spoke with Loudwire about his performance at the tribute to the late Chester Bennington of Linkin Park.

Linkin Park & Friends Celebrate Life In Honor of Chester Bennington took place on October 27th at the iconic Hollywood Bowl and featured special appearances by Jonathan Davis of Korn, M. Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold, members of Blink-182, Bring Me The Horizon, and more.

There, Rossdale performed “Leave Out All the Rest” with Linkin Park, and he recounts the importance and difficulty of having sung the track: “It was incredibly sad. As a father, I feel terrible for his children. His family, his wife, and I think of Chris Cornell. They are connected (…) I find it very sad when you are in that situation of singing a song to honor someone. You don't want to mess it up.”

He reveals that he was nervous and wanted to give a good performance for Bennington and Cornell, whom he couldn't stop thinking about during his set. “That was my way of honoring Chester. It's strange, because I wasn't honoring Chris that particular night, but it was hard not to think about him too.”
