Bumblefoot comments on Slash's work on the new Guns N' Roses song: "It sounds more like a band."

The former guitarist worked on the previous version of "Absurd" when he was in the band.

Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal , guitarist for Guns N' Roses between 2006 and 2014, commented on the release of “Absurd” Slash 's work on the track.

The song marks the band's first new release in 13 years , but it's a new version of "Silkworms," a composition that was intended for the album Chinese Democracy (2008) but ended up being shelved. Bumblefoot worked on the song during the album's recording sessions.

“I remember the music from when I recorded the guitars for this album. I did some of their parts back then. And, yes, they were all replaced – I’m not in the band anymore,” he said in an interview on the Rockin' Interviews (via Blabbermouth ) .

“Slash should have been there, without a doubt, playing lead guitar and everything. Yes, I listened to the song, and it was really cool to hear him do what he does,” he continued. “It definitely sounded more like what [Guns N' Roses] is – as a band.”
