Almost eighteen months after the release of their sixth album, Bullet For My Valentine came to Brazil to perform the hits from Gravity . Their only show in the country took place last Sunday, the 24th, at Tropical Butantã in São Paulo.

The night started early. At 7 pm sharp, the Brazilian band Sea Smile took the stage and exceeded the audience's expectations. Heavy, national, and exciting, the 30-minute set warmed up the venue for BFMV to debut their album with the energetic "Don't Need You," whose lyrics were shouted by fans even before the group arrived on stage.

During the second song, “Scream Aim Fire,” small mosh pits began to form, showing the Welsh fans the passion of the Brazilian crowd. “Your Betrayal” was greeted with screams, everyone clamoring for Bullet For My Valentine. Jason Bowld at the beginning of the song provided an incredible opening with an impeccable solo that was accompanied by the stage lights. The band grew increasingly enthusiastic as they saw that the audience was thirsty for more. The perfect execution of the songs certainly helped.

“Piece of Me,” one of the most powerful songs on Gravity , begins with “Why should I give a fuck?” shouted by Matt Tuck . If the audience was already excited, the climax arrived when Matt announced he was going to travel back in time and perform a track from the beginning of their career: “4 Words (To Choke Upon)” from Poison ’s 2005 self-titled debut album. The fans present were loyal; everyone knew the lyrics and didn’t stop singing them, even when the band itself stopped.

The Welsh band continued with “Over It,” “Venom,” and introduced Bowld’s majestic solo, which captivated the entire audience. “No Way Out” was the official mosh pit song, at Matt’s request. And the request was very well fulfilled; nobody left disappointed.

Bullet traveled back in time once again for the unforgettable and unmissable “Tears Don't Fall.” The classic Poison was performed in a way worthy of an anthem and was treated as such by the fans. Singing every word with the pain of a teenager who heard this song for the first time, the audience accompanied the music masterfully. In the end, Matt was the one accompanying the fans in the music, and not the other way around.

Finally, the audience had requests, shouting “Hand of Blood,” another song from their incredible debut album. Matt revealed, “We weren’t planning on playing that song, but we’ll try… for you guys. Because this show was amazing! But if we mess up anything, don’t put the video on YouTube, okay?” And they were flawless.

“Waking the Demon” closed the night perfectly, showing that their performance in São Paulo was more than just another date on their busy tour schedule. The show was a gathering of true fans.
