João Gordo is a confirmed act for the Summer Breeze Brasil , which debuts in the country this weekend in São Paulo. Known for being an icon of Brazilian punk as the frontman of Ratos de Porão , the artist brings an unusual and different project to the stage of the German-origin event this Saturday, April 29th: Brutal Brega .

This is the name of the album released by João Gordo last year. Released by the Wikimetal Music , it's described as a fun tribute to "brega" music , featuring punk versions of Brazilian music classics.

The idea originated as a joke during the isolation period of the pandemic, when guitarist and composer Val Santos began developing the versions for fun and sent them to João Gordo, who became interested in the project.

In a short time, the two recorded dozens of covers together, enough for an album with versions of classics by artists such as Sidney Magal, Reginaldo Rossi, Ângelo Máximo, Jane and Herondy , and many others.

Brutal Brega 's show at Summer Breeze Brasil takes place this Saturday, April 29th, at Sun Stage, at 11:30 AM. For the setlist, the audience can expect a humorous performance with punk versions of great hits like "Fuscão Preto , "Tô Doidão, " and the recently released "Sandra Rosa Madalena .

Tickets for Summer Breeze Brasil are still available for purchase on the Ticket360 website.
