Bruce Springsteen fans complained to Ticketmaster about the price of tickets for the tour the singer will be doing next year with the E Street Band.

The complaints arose mostly due to the dynamic pricing charged by Ticketmaster, inflating the original ticket price by almost US$600. Placed anywhere in a concert arena, from the front to the back rows, ticket prices fluctuate according to demand. This is an unconventional practice for ticketing companies. "This is similar to the model used for airline tickets and hotel rooms," the company wrote on its website.

Amid fan outrage, Ticketmaster issued a statement saying the following (via Variety ): “Ticketmaster says these tickets represent only 11.2% of the total sold. According to the box office's calculations, this left the other 88.8% at fixed prices ranging from $59.50 to $399 before service fees were added.”

“The company points out that the average price of all tickets sold so far is $262, with 56% being sold for less than $200. … The service further detailed the percentages of the 56% of tickets that were sold for less than $200. It said that 18% were sold below $99, 27% were sold between $100-$150, and 11% were sold between $150-$200.”

Reports indicating ticket prices ranging from $4,000 to $5,000 in the platinum program have not been disputed. However, Ticketmaster claimed that only 1.3% of total tickets sold so far have cost more than $1,000.

Bruce Springsteen's tour will take place in arenas across the United States and will run from February 1st to April 14th of next year. It will be The Boss's first tour with the band since 2016.
