Singer reveals she is the rejected daughter of Bruce Dickinson, from Iron Maiden; find out more here.

“I always felt ashamed for being the product of an affair. He made me feel like something that should be hidden,” she confided to The Sun.

Iron Maiden 's appearance at Rock in Rio 2021 might be jeopardized by the festival's possible postponement , a fear that was dispelled yesterday when the event confirmed that the festival is still on . However, the Maiden world was shaken by other rumors, this time involving a "bastard" daughter of frontman Bruce Dickinson .

That's right, dear reader of the Caras heavy metal edition: Brittany Potts , also known as Nikki Dickinson , is a 33-year-old singer who revealed to The Sun that she is the result of a brief affair in 1989 between her mother, Angela , and the iconic Bruce Dickinson.

In the early 1990s, after a DNA test proved that the artist was indeed Brittany's father, Bruce began sending Angela approximately US$1,500 per month six months after the test, in addition to covering healthcare, education, and dance lessons five times a week. However, the information about his paternity was never made public due to Bruce's wife of many years, Paddy .

In 2010, Bruce and Brittany finally met at an Iron Maiden concert in San Bernardino, California. The singer, with "shining eyes," as she herself describes in an interview, was also introduced to her half-siblings, introduced her own children, and continued exchanging emails with her father until 2012, at which point, according to her, Bruce stopped responding to her through any means of communication.

“I always felt ashamed for being the product of an affair. He made me feel like something that should be hidden,” she confides. “I feel angry because I still had many unanswered questions when I met him.”

Brittany also revealed frustrations about being erased from her father's own autobiography, in the 2018 book, An Autobiography , "His fame made it all the harder because I saw and heard things, like he was writing a book and I wasn't mentioned in it. I don't exist. That made me feel very, very unwanted."

So far, neither Bruce nor Iron Maiden have commented on the matter.
