The musician spoke about the current state of the world
In an interview with Newsweek, Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson recalled the show the band performed in 1984 at a concentration camp in Poland during the Powerslave .
Dickinson recounts that the place was terrifying, “The Polish guy who took us there always goes there and I was like, ‘How can that be?’ I couldn’t stay for more than two hours. You can feel the evil in the air.”
Referring to the current world situation, he said: “We think we are modern because we are in the 21st century, but we are one step away from another Auschwitz, and not just with Jews.
There's an equivalent of this happening in the world every day. You think, 'When did we start evolving?' and then something crazy happens like Las Vegas, and then it makes you think, 'What's wrong with human beings? Are we all capable of this?'".
The musician also spoke about Auschwitz in his new book, What Does This Button Do?, released in October 2017.
