In an interview with Team Rock, Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson revealed the origins of the song " Empire Of The Clouds ," a track from the band's latest album, "The Book Of Souls." Composed almost entirely by Bruce Dickinson, " Empire Of The Clouds" has surpassed " Rime of the Ancient Mariner" as Iron Maiden's longest song, at 18 minutes.

Bruce Dickinson reminisced:

“It’s a very bizarre story about how I ended up composing Empire Of The Clouds. Basically, I won a piano in a raffle. It was one of those charity dinners, and Jamie Oliver was the host. There were a thousand auctions of things that were completely useless to me, like a facial somewhere far away. But there was also a small electric piano being auctioned, and it was autographed by Jamie Cullum! I thought, it wouldn’t be bad to have a piano at home to mess around with. And in the end I won. And I play like one of those people who type with two fingers.”.
