Check out the chosen ones

In an interview commemorating 35 years since his debut with Iron Maiden, vocalist Bruce Dickinson told Team Rock about three of his favorite albums with the band. Check out his selections:

“The Number Of The Beast (1982): “I knew I had joined a great band. I also knew I could make it even better. I had a vision for “The Number Of The Beast”: my voice plus Maiden makes things even greater. We did it quickly – four or five weeks (…) Hallowed Be Thy Name was a precursor to Rime Of The Ancient Mariner. That song, and that whole album, took Maiden to another level.”

“Live After Death” (1985): “This album was a landmark, a double live album, like the ones we loved when we were young (…) When Maiden fans told me that this is our best live album, I thought, 'Oh, I don't know about that.' But recently I listened to Live After Death and it sounds really good. And “Scream for me, Long Beach!” has become part of our folklore.”

A Matter Of Life And Death (2006): “It was very brave of us to do that tour – to play the album from beginning to end: 'let's play this whole album for the people who live in the moment, people who are interested in seeing the band move forward.' You have to keep making new music because without that you're just the biggest karaoke band in the world.”
