Iron Maiden's British vocalist received an invitation from a local team.

Bruce Dickinson , lead singer of the British band Iron Maiden , has been invited to sing "The Star-Spangled Banner," the national anthem of the United States, before the NFL game taking place next Sunday, September 14th, at Acrisure Stadium. The game will be between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Seattle Seahawks .

Bruce made the announcement during an interview with Elizabeth Zharoff of The Charismatic Voice . He said [transcript via The Spun ]:

“I’ll tell you a secret. So, I have to sing the national anthem in Pittsburgh for the Pittsburgh Steelers,” he said. “They asked me to do it. I’ll do it a cappella and everything, and as long as you start from the right place, everything’s alright.”

Bruce Dickinson is touring the United States with The Mandrake Project Live 2025 , and will be playing in Pittsburgh the day before the NFL game. Since you don't have to be American to sing the national anthem at the game, fans were understandably excited.
