BBC News reported today that the world's largest aircraft, named Airlander 10, crashed during its second flight. Airlander counts Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson among its shareholders, who invested £250,000 in the project.

The accident happened during landing, when the aircraft was conducting a test in Bedfordshire. A spokesperson said there were no injuries, but the crash damaged the cockpit. Despite this, the test was considered a success: "The flight was very good and the only problem was during landing."

The Airlander is a hybrid spacecraft that produces little pollution and can carry large amounts of cargo. During the spacecraft's unveiling in 2014, Dickinson said he wanted to pilot the Airlander one day: “It captures my imagination. I want to get inside it and fly from pole to pole.”
