Bruce Dickinson on his first smartphone: "My life is going to be a mess from now on."

The Iron Maiden vocalist has a Nokia and will need a smartphone to participate in 'The Heavy Metal Truants'.

In 2021, Bruce Dickinson is joining The Heavy Metal Truants , the charity cycling group founded by Iron Maiden , Rod Smallwood , and former Metal Hammer , Alexander Milas .

In an interview with Planet Rock , Bruce revealed that he will need to use a smartphone to monitor his bike rides, despite not being a big fan of the idea. The Iron Maiden vocalist proudly owns a "brand new Nokia" in blue and joked that his life "is going to be a mess" now that he needs to use a smartphone.

“Almost a year ago I got this smartphone from the Maiden guys,” Bruce said. “It had a SIM card and everything and I thought ‘cool’ and put it away and never touched it again. Until the Truants said ‘you need to download this app to track your route’. And I finally put the SIM card in it, so now I have a smartphone, which basically means my life is going to be a mess from now on.”

Dickinson also revealed that she had part of her hip replaced with a titanium prosthesis because the area was worn down after so many years on stage. Watch the full interview.
