Bruce Dickinson says Iron Maiden has no plans to retire: "We're going to drop dead on stage."

The lead singer assured that the band has no plans to quit music anytime soon

Iron Maiden fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Even after almost 50 years as a band, Bruce Dickinson assures that none of the members intend to retire.

Even after releasing their 17th studio album, Senjutsu , in 2021, it seems there's still much to look forward to from Iron Maiden. During an appearance on the radio show Full Metal Jackie US , the vocalist commented (transcription via Blabbermouth ):

“We’re not planning on retiring at all. I think we’ll probably drop dead on stage. I can think of worse places to die. But no, we’re not planning on retiring. We still have a lot of energy and a lot of enthusiasm, so I can’t wait to join [the other members and start rehearsing for the tour].”

During the conversation, Bruce Dickinson also spoke about having fans from different generations at the moment. “Even at my recitation shows, I get to tell jokes about the age of the audience because half of them are my age, but the other half is much, much younger. It’s brilliant. We have something intergenerational,” he says.
