Bruce Dickinson attended the 2023 edition of CCXP in São Paulo to talk about his new solo album, The Mandrake Project , and to launch the music video for the single "Afterglow of Ragnarok" .
Podpah podcast , Bruce was asked why he likes Brazil so much and why he chose the country to launch his new single. “It’s the opposite: why does Brazil like me so much?” he replied, smiling. “I come here, with Iron Maiden or with solo shows, and it’s always a wonderful reaction. Is Brazil the best audience in the world? Probably.”
In announcing the release of The Mandrake Project , his first solo album in 19 years, Bruce Dickinson also announced a solo tour of Brazil , including stops in São Paulo, Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre, Ribeirão Preto, Brasília, and Belo Horizonte.
The vocalist also commented on the energy of Brazilian audiences: “The whole continent is explosive, in a good, passionate way. But what I love most about Brazilian fans is that I always get the impression that they are musical. If it's a song that makes them want to jump, they jump, but if it's a slightly calmer song, the kind you want to listen to, they do that. The fans' emotion goes along with the music. And if you're an artist trying to communicate that, it's incredible to have that kind of feedback from the audience. And Brazil does that as well as, or better than, anywhere else.”
The Mandrake Project is scheduled for release on March 1st, just under two months before Bruce Dickinson arrives in Brazil for his solo tour.
