Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson tests positive for COVID-19

"If I hadn't gotten vaccinated, I could be in serious trouble," the singer declared

Bruce Dickinson , vocalist of Iron Maiden , revealed his positive diagnosis for COVID-19 this Thursday, the 12th, even after complete immunization with the vaccine .

Last week, the singer cancelled dates on his UK recital tour after a close acquaintance tested positive for the disease . Dickinson had tested negative for the virus at the time, but began experiencing symptoms during the legally required isolation period in such cases.

In an interview with Rolling Stone , the Iron Maiden frontman explained that he tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, the 9th. “I was sneezing a bit. For a few days, I felt a little dizzy, kind of like I had the flu, and that was it. And I’m 63 years old. I have no doubt that if I hadn’t gotten vaccinated, I could have been in serious trouble,” he told the magazine. “The biggest problem is just staying indoors so I don’t pass it on to someone else who could pass it on to someone who is really vulnerable.”

Despite believing that the vaccine is the “right choice,” he doesn’t believe vaccination should be mandatory for attending concerts and events . “It’s a personal choice. Personally, I think people are misinformed if they don’t get two doses [of the vaccine] as soon as possible, not to attend concerts, but for their own health,” he comments. “That said, you can still get infected even with vaccination, and you can pass the disease on to other people who haven’t been vaccinated – and those people can get very sick and die.”

An Evening with Bruce Dickinson tour have been rescheduled, and the musician continues touring the United Kingdom with performances until October.
