Bruce Dickinson imitates Rob Halford and Geoff Tate while singing “Tyranny of Souls”; watch.

The solo song was written for a project that was never realized with the singers.

Bruce Dickinson is on a solo tour, but it's not yet in support of his next album, separate from Iron Maiden . The vocalist has a spoken-word show in which he talks about life stories, answers fan questions, and occasionally sings something for the audience.

On these occasions, Dickinson has already surprised the audience with a cappella versions of "Revelations" and "Tears Of The Dragon ," and now he has lent his voice to the sound of "Tyranny Of Souls"—a song originally written for the project The Three Tremors , a partnership with Rob Halford (Judas Priest) and Geoff Tate (ex-Queensryche) that never came to fruition.

The lyrics were written with each singer's characteristics in mind, each contributing a verse, but the project didn't move forward and the song ended up as the title track of Dickinson's solo album, released in 2005.

At the show, held in early March, Dickinson imitated the voices of the other vocalists to illustrate what it would be like for the audience, and then sang the chorus of the song with all his might, drawing applause from the fans. Watch below.
